Luisa's Story

Luisa was 15 years old when she walked through the doors of the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center (CSPC). She had been experiencing early signs of pregnancy but was totally unaware she was pregnant. Shocked when the test was positive, she felt a range of emotions and cried as she started thinking about how this baby would impact her life. She was young, single and still in high school. Uncertain about her future and vulnerable to choosing an abortion, we offered Luisa an ultrasound. Before leaving the counseling room, she heard about Christ's love and forgiveness for her.

Her family and boyfriend came with her to the ultrasound. Quietly observing, they smiled through tears as they saw the heartbeat. Luisa chose life and became a client of the LifeSteps program. Throughout her pregnancy, she watched pre-natal videos, attended childbirth classes and met with a LifeSteps coach. As a result, she was able to earn credits in our clothing closet for items she needed for her baby. Last Fall, she had a beautiful baby girl. She continues to attend LifeSteps, learning about topics such as nutrition, shaken baby syndrome, SIDS, and child development.
